  Kat and Bianca Stratford arrive to their first day at Padua High with differences in priorities. Kat instantly gets off on a bad foot with Chastity, the most popular girl, by side swiping her car, while Bianca is hell bent on becoming Chastity's best friend. Kat is drawn to yet clashes with the school's resident bad boy, Patrick Verona, even though her new friend, Mandella, warns her against him.
